Registration process under way at South Texas College campuses
WESLACO — If you are a student who has yet to register for the fall semester at South Texas College's Mid-Valley Campus, don't be surprised to find yourself at the end of a long line.
According to a release from the school, registration numbers continue to climb rapidly.
STC has even extended registration to accommodate the outpouring of enrolling students in the area.
Kim McKay, STC director of outreach said that students interested in registering for the fall semester should do so as soon as possible to avoid scheduling obstacles.
"We are extending our hours of operation to help students manage their busy lives," McKay said. "We encourage all students to come in as soon as possible to ensure that they can get a class schedule that is convenient and follows the classes they need for their degree plans."
The Mid-Valley Campus will be open Fridays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. so students can register for classes, get advising, financial aid counseling, take placement tests and make any payments at the Cashier's Office.
"We had 20,000 students last fall and we expect to see that figure increase in 2008," said McKay.
Fall classes begin Aug. 25. For more information about registering for classes, financial aid, placement testing and other STC students are encouraged to call student services at 872-8311.
